Symptoms

One of the following error messages can appear during the "General Training Calibration" (after you have read the General Training text):

1. "COM Returned an unexpected error code, details are 80010005"
2. "unexpected error code of COM. Details: RPC_E_CANTCALLOUT_INEXTERNALCALL"        

Cause

What is actually happening, is that the user calibration is running into problems communicating with its server. Unfortunately, its attempts to notify you, the user, of this are hindered by the fact that the error message box appears behind the General Training window.

Resolution

Fortunately, you should still have control of the mouse and should be able to minimize or drag the General Training window (along with the "Please wait..." calibration window) out of the way. Once this has been done, you will find an error with the following message:

"The action can not be completed because the other program is busy, click the appropriate button on the taskbar to activate the program and correct the problem". Cancel / Retry

If you click on the "Retry" button, NaturallySpeaking will continue processing the calibration and will then be able to complete General Training. It is possible that the message box may appear a few more times later on the training but should not cause any recognition problems.
